REVIEW: TARTE HAUL
I am a major fan of Tarte Cosmetics. I have several products from them and I never regret buying any of them.
Having said that I have a HAUL from Tarte for you. Actually, I only bought two products but I had some points from their rewards program so I decided to spend them.
Let's start!
Having said that I have a HAUL from Tarte for you. Actually, I only bought two products but I had some points from their rewards program so I decided to spend them.
Let's start!
Balance shot antioxidant concentrate
Tarte says:
- Three-in-one toner, moisturizer, and treatment in one potent, liquid skincare formula
- Flower water to hydrate, flower and plant oils to treat, and plant cellulose to absorb oil
As you see, this is a sample. It came from my rewards.
The first time I have tried this product I hated it. It has a very strong scent to alcohol maybe because it acts as toner.
I never use these types of products that says 3 in 1 as they intended to be. Now that I have a routine to my skin I do not skip any any steps because of this products. Just because they say 3 in 1 does not mean I have to skip three steps. Not for me, at least.
I used this shot in the morning before my moisturizer. It was when I noticed the alcohol, it awaked me immediately (maybe that is the purpose 😅). Then, I layered all my current products: moisturizer, eye cream and SPF.
Not even an hour later, I felt something peeling from my face. I guess this is an effect from this shot as Tarte recommends it to oily skin. I have a very normal skin type so my conclusion is that this is a very drying product. So, if you have an oily skin this might a good product for you.
Conclusion: I hated it, I will not buy it.
Tarte says:
- +20% fruit & plant extracts help balance, clarify & nourish to restore a youthful-looking radiance
- refreshing, ultra-light & oil-free gel formula smooths & hydrates
- gently exfoliates & reduces appearance of pores
- skin feels softer & smoother, never greasy
This was also part of my rewards.
Of course, there are not that many differences between before and after applying this gel. I did feel the skin very hydrated and my skin absorbed it instantly and it was not greasy. I am not sure about this claim of reducing the appearance of pores because a) I do not have very enlarged pores, b) it is only a sample so it will not last enough time to see the difference and c) it is an issue not easy to fix in the skin.
Conclusion: Overall I liked this moisturizer. It might replace my current one just because I do not like it 😁
Rainforest of the Sea™ quench hydrating primer
Tarte says:
- Prep skin & extend the length of wear of your foundation
- Coconut scent
- Cooling gel formula is absorbed immediately (with no sticky residue) to refresh & hydrate your skin
- Extends the length of wear of your foundation
- Helps smooth the appearance of fine lines with hyaluronic acid
- Provides pollution defense with antioxidant-rich marine plant extracts
- Delivers antioxidants, probiotics & amino acids
This primer was the product that made me to do a purchase in tarte.
I really liked this primer; I guess i was not expecting to like it. It comes in a squeezy tube that was part of my criteria. When it is near the end I can simply cut it in half and use the remaining product.
This primer did extended the wear of my foundation. Although this is part of the claims, I was not expecting that. I did not left any residue in my skin but I did felt it a little bit sticky.
The only thing that I do not like in this primer is the coconut scent but after a while it disappears or after I layer some products.
Conclusion: I enjoyed this primer so much that I might buy it again.
Tarte says:
- Medium coverage with a naturally radiant finish
- Provides powerful antioxidant protection & pollution defense with marine plant extracts
- Water-based formula provides gentle, yet powerful coverage
- Helps prevent signs of aging
- No chemical sunscreen ingredients
I just love this foundation. It has everything I like in a foundation: lightweight, medium coverage and super natural finish. My freckles are not completly covered but my red spots are: and that is ok. I can live with it. I used the lighter shade in the sample but it was still too dark for me. I used for about 4 to 5 hours and it did not smudge even a little bit. I guess that this foundation together with the primer worked very well.
Conclusion: I love this foundation so much that I will buy it again but in a lighter shade 👌
(Birthday gift)
About the blush:
Tarte says:
- super soft, silky powder blush glides on smoothly
- delivers a healthy, youthful & fresh flush of color
- blends seamlessly - no harsh lines or clown cheeks
- instantly airbrushes the look of imperfections
- no need to reapply, cheeky color lasts all day
Well, blush is that makeup product that I can live without. But I admit that in some cases, blush gives a healthy color and glow to the face. Talking specifically about this blush, all the claims seem to be truth: it is a soft and silky blush. This colour might be a little bit dark for me; maybe in the summer it might work best.
Conclusion: I like it but I do not think I would buy it
About the mascara:
- Instantly lifts & curls
- volumizes & lengthens to make eyes appear bigger
- ultra-black pigment delivers darker, defined lashes
- vitamin-rich formula conditions with each coat
- 360° magniLASH wand for an instant lash lift:
- shorter bristles add intense volume
- longer bristles give instant curl
Conclusion: It is just a regular mascara, I will not buy it again
Tarte says:
- all-in-1 vegan lip liner, primer, balm & lipstick
- as nourishing as a balm but performs like a lipstick
- moisturizing tint helps replenish & rehydrate dry lips
- hyaluronic acid, vegan collagen complex & vegan squalane lock in moisture & make lips look plumper
- microalgae smooths & reduces the look of lip lines
- 1 swipe for soft creamy color, 2 for full coverage
- formulated without petrolatum or lanolin
- for brilliant shine, layer with H₂O gloss
Lately, I have been enjoyed this kind of lipstick in the form of jumbo pencils. I feel that is easier form to apply that all the other lipticks either they are liquid lipsticks, gloss or just a regular lipstick. Regarding this one in particular, I would not call only a balm because it has a very good pigmentation and it is very creamy. My lips felt hydrated and it was very comfortable to wear.
Conclusion: I liked it so much that I might be able to buy it again
Tarte says:
- vegan creamy gloss feels like treatment balm
- lacquers lips in feel-good, non-sticky nourishment
- drenches lips in hydration for a soft & supple pout
- antioxidant-rich to help smooth appearance of lines
- mirror-shine finish makes lips look fuller & plumper
- plush applicator lifts & fills for a voluminous pout
- formulated without petrolatum or lanolin
Lip gloss is not my favourite formula in a lipstick. Like I said, I prefer jumbo pencils or the traditional lipsticks. However, I decided to buy it anyway to pair it with the lip balm and in the same colour "hang ten" as well.
Talking about the gloss, I love the colour. It is ligher and less pigmented as the balm (of course, it is a gloss). My lips felt very hydrated and not sticky; very comfortable to wear.
There were two things that I did not like: too shiny for me and it was hard to take product from the tube. It seems that the applicator was too thick for the tube and the gloss that should come in the applicator was removed in the moment the applicator was removed from the tube. In the end, I needed to dip the applicator in the tube several times to apply this gloss.
Conclusion: I enjoyed it but I do not think I will buy it again
That's all, folks!
And you? Have you ever tried any of these products?
See you soon!
